ANA Michigan 2019 Annual Conference
ANA-Michigan's Conference event took place this Thursday and Friday at the GVSU L.V. Eberhard Center in Grand Rapids, MI. Thanks to our attendees and exhibitors from all over, the conference was a hit!
Creativity and Innovation in Nursing was the theme for this year’s event. Our landscape around us is continually changing as well as scope of practice. Creativity and innovation many times go hand in hand. As nurses, we are open to change and want to be in the know of innovative and progressive practices as it applies to the care of our patients and colleagues.
On Thursday, attendees were able to meet with exhibitors and our poster presenters. They attended a round table discussion on legislation, and heard from our speakers throughout the day. The meeting focused on embracing the evolving role of the nurse while harnessing the foundations of nursing practice. Topics of cannabis, gun violence, artificial intelligence and climate change were topics we showcased with presenters who are in the cutting edge of their field.
Later in the night, a reception was held at the Eberhard Center, and various award recipients were honored. Attendees were able to network and socialize with each other, connecting with people in similar fields.
Friday, the Annual Board Meeting began. New members were elected to the board, past members were recognized for their service, and various topics and legislation was discussed. Attendees were able to listen to the final speakers of the conference in the afternoon, Elizabeth Del Buono and Cindy Hayes.
We were so pleased with all the presentations, and are happy to see nurses from all over learning and growing. And if you were unable to attend, stay tuned for information about next year's annual conference!
