Health Care Check-In
ANA-Michigan President Carole Stacy was honored to attend U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow’s “Health Care Check In” in East Lansing on September 6 to contribute to the conversation about Michigan’s healthcare needs from the nursing perspective. Senator focused on efforts to lower prescription drug costs, making health care affordable and accessible for all and expanding funding for community mental health and addiction services.
Senator Stabenow has been holding “Health Care Check In” discussions across the state to hear first-hand from patients, providers, and other stakeholders about their challenges and needs. From hospitals, VA clinics, and pharmacies to mental health and addiction treatment programs, home health, and school based clinics, Senator Stabenow is visiting a broad range of healthcare providers and practitioners across Michigan this year to help showcase innovative programs and services, as well as discuss ways to improve services and bring down costs.
As Ranking Member of the Health Care Subcommittee of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, Senator Stabenow plays an instrumental role in addressing federal healthcare policies.
