Disaster Relief Being Provided by Nurses Across the U.S. In Wake of Major Tornadoes

Posted 10 months ago

Please keep our colleagues and members in Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, and Kentucky in your thoughts and prayers. As we have learned, these states were impacted by tornadoes last weekend. The gravity of the storms has displaced some, as well as impacted healthcare systems in these areas.

Based on feedback from a couple of states, here are a few ways you can support the recovery efforts:

The Kentucky Nurses Association has donated water, food, blankets, and personal items.

The Kentucky Nurses Foundation has created a disaster relief fund to help victims of Kentucky tornadoes -

From the KNA website

Help victims of the tornadoes and storms that devastated several cities in Kentucky on December 10 and 11. We are raising money to benefit the Kentucky Nurses Foundation (KNF). Any funds KNF garners from this campaign will go to the communities hardest hit by this extreme weather event that continues to claim the lives of countless Kentuckians. Please give, help fellow residents of the Commonwealth recover from this unthinkable tragedy.

The Arkansas Nurses Association is looking to support nursing home seniors who were displaced by the tornado in Arkansas. Their nursing facility was leveled. There are 66 residents total. ARNA wants to show them love through cards from all over the country.

Here's the mailing address for cards:
